Spreaker iOS app: issues with iOS 4

With the release of the last build (version 3.2) we received some crash reports from our users running iOS 4.

A new release with a fix to this issue is on the way. In the meantime, we suggest to upgrade your iGadgets to the latest iOS 5 version.

P.S. Last but not the least, we also introduced a new feature: auto-resume listening when the network connection fails or is congested. You’ll love that!

Reach your audience even via Phone Network

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with ZenoFon, that allows our Anchorman and Station users to get a phone number where your audience can listen to the latest episode. This feature is great for reaching mobile users without smartphone.

This feature is currently in beta and only supported in the US. If you’ve an anchorman or station plan, ask your phone number sending an email to info AT spreaker.com.

Added category and 24/7 support to Tube

Every day we get more and more users that start broadcasting on Spreaker using our “Tube” service. We receive a lot of feedbacks on Tube and it’s probably one of the most appreciated features of Spreaker.

Today, we added category and 24/7 non-stop support to Tube (the latter is available only to users with Station plan). If you broadcast with Tube and want to set the category or enable 24/7 non-stop, go to the page http://www.spreaker.com/broadcast/tube and use the wizard to get the configuration to apply on your software (see screenshot below).

24/7 Non-Stop

This feature is available only if you have a Station plan.

Happy Birthday @cedmax (IE7 deprecated)

Today is the birthday of @cedmax our brilliant frontend developer. Last year our gift was removing IE6 from the list of Spreaker supported browsers. Supporting old versions of IE costs us an huge effort and prevent us to introduce cool features (supported by most modern browsers but not on old IE versions).

This year we remove the support of IE7 (currently it’s 1% of our traffic). This means that if you’re using IE7 you should upgrade it immediately or install Google Chrome, in order to continue using Spreaker. IE7 support will be completely dropped on 15th of August 2012.

Happy birthday Ced!

We’ve just released the “chat ban”: if a listener bothers you during your live broadcast, you can “ban” him/her so that he/she will be no more able to publish messages on your live chat.
